A motorist was taken aback when he saw his car insurance cost rose. He had told the car insurance company that he was not born in UK. He was living there since last 12 years. The discrimination has been done by a company that is part of the insurance industry and is thus being considered as legitimate. The person is named Marios and a year ago, he passed his license and went to search for the cheapest car insurance for his car. When he searched for the cheap insurance policy, he came across a policy that demanded just £506 per year to cover the car.
While filling up the form for getting a car insurance policy, one has to fill in the details about the nationality. He too was asked to fill in the form and entered Cyprus as his native country. This made the car insurance premium go higher and reach £614. He was left wondering if it was right on the part of the company to do that and increase his car insurance premiums. He was wondering that if he had taken car-driving session in UK, why he is being given such an expensive policy. The discrimination is just not fair and the companies cannot get away after doing this kind of discrimination with the customers.
The company has to justify the reason for doing so and this advice has been given by the Financial Services Authority. If you belong to some other country and looking for car insurance, you will have to compare the market and then make a purchase in order to get the best rates. You will have to keep an eye on the rates that the companies have to provide you so that you can make wise decisions.
